4.3 Conformance inspection.
4.3.1 Lot. For the purpose of inspection, a lot shall consist of all types, and pipe sizes of
clamps offered for delivery at one time.
4.3.2 Sampling. Sampling for examination shall be in accordance with MIL-STD-1916
or ANSI/ASQC Z1.4.
4.3.3 Examination. Samples selected in accordance with 4.3.2 shall be examined as
specified in 4.5.1.
4.3.4 Tests. Samples selected in accordance with 4.3.2 shall be tested as specified in
4.5.2. Inspection level shall be S-2. AQL shall be 1.0 percent defective.
4.4 Inspection procedure.
4.4.1 Examination. Clamps shall be examined as specified herein for the following
defects:
101.
Materials not as specified (see 3.3 through 3.7).
102.
Materials are not resistant to corrosion and deterioration or treated to be resistant
to corrosion and deterioration for the applicable storage and operating
environments (see 3.3.1).
103.
Dissimilar metals as defined in MIL-STD-889 are not effectively insulated from
each other (see 3.3.2).
104.
Used, rebuilt, or remanufactured components, pieces or parts incorporated in the
repair clamps (see 3.3).
105.
Dimensions or components not in accordance with applicable specification sheet
(see 3.1).
106.
Components missing. Each missing component shall constitute one failure
(see 3.1).
107.
Clamps not of types, and sizes specified (see 3.1).
108.
Workmanship not as specified (see 3.13).
109.
Treatment and painting not as specified (see 3.10).
110.
Paint color not as specified (see 3.10).
111.
Welding not as specified (see 3.13.3).
112.
Contractor does not have documentation available for materials, material finishes
or treatments (see 3.3.3).
113.
Identification marking missing, incomplete, or illegible (see 3.9).
