COMMERCIAL ITEM DESCRIPTION
TEE, HOSE (LOW PRESSURE)
The General Services Administration has authorized the use of this commercial item description (CID) for all federal agencies.
1. SCOPE. This commercial item description (CID) covers requirements for hose tees constructed either of corrosion resisting steel or of anodized aluminum alloy.
2. SALIENT CHARACTERISTICS.
2.1 Design and construction. The low pressure hose tee shall be designed and constructed in accordance with figure 1. The hose tee shall be either a four piece brazed body and tube construction or a one piece construction.
2.1.1 Body and tube. The four piece construction body and tubes shall be made entirely from either corrosion resisting steel or anodized aluminum alloy.
2.1.2 Brazing. Brazing when applicable shall be silver alloy filler metal for corrosion resisting steel and aluminum filler metal for aluminum alloy. Assembly shall withstand 50 psi pressure test without leakage after brazing.
